I'm using Moebius. Never had a problem before. I really don't know what a cursor positioning code is. Never had to deal with that sort of thing before.

i downloaded moebius and made a simple ansi and it didnt add these codes.

I opened the ansi in a text editor and do not see esc[1;1H anywhere in the ansi. What are you usung to view the ansi. I'm not seeing those codes.

you can see from the screenshots that i have the raw file.
that is what you display. unless synchronet now does something weird with the files.


and it is loaded up with a text editor.

and your ads are being positioned weird on bbses. ie it overwrites
the name and subject instead of displaying like a normal file
the positioning code makes it go to col 1 row 1

LOL! I'll use your file. You said you edited it in Pablo Draw. What exactly did you do to the file? I tried the method Digital Man suggested because when I opened the ansi in a text editor I did't see any of those codes that were in the ansi you posted.

i took out the codes by hand and then i opened it in pablodraw and saved it. then i removed that stupid sauce tag.

show me a screenshot of your ansi in your text editor and i'll circle the codes.

See those "1B" characters? Those are control characters (hex 1B is ASCII ESC). You can't view those characters correctly in most text editors.

years ago i made a little cheat sheet program, but ironically it
moves the cursor position and blocks some of the display
