MCKEYGEN.ZIP can be found in file area 4 (cracks) on Another Millennium BBS (another.tel). :)

I tested it with McRace 2.2, McTrivia 2.0, and McBowl 2.0, I'm not sure of the whole list to test it against. The same MCSOFT.KEY file can be used for the different games.

Keygen for Motor City Software doors including:

Generate a key file (usually MCSOFT.KEY) and place it in the directory with
the game files.

usage: MCKEYGEN "BBS Name" "Sysop Name" ["Key Name"]

NOTE - don't forget the quotes around the names!


Place the generated MCSOFT.KEY file in the same directory as the game files.

About the "Key Name" option:

The Motor City Software doors are able to recognize multiple types of key file. Usually the default MCSOFT key name can be used by all the Motor City doors.
A MASTER key name may also be used (with the file renamed to MCSOFT.KEY).

It is not expected that you will need to use the "Key Name" feature, but it is implemented in the keygen in case it is found useful with another door
version in the future.

The Motor City doors may also support time-limited beta keys, but this keygen does not support creating beta keys.

Ohh ... these are old comport doors, they are on my "sub" bbs that is run on NetSerial as these door need a comport to run. But all the UltraSoft doors are cool too, and have HORRIBLE delays unregistered.

They have great ANSI and sorta fun games. AHRA Pro Drag Racing, Indy Speedway, etc. etc. I think I have a base just for them.

I can't seem to get any MC games to work. Keep getting runtime 200 error even after running UNP.exe amd Patchcrt.exe

Any ideas?

The file is missing, or you don't have exclusive Read/Write access to it, o the contents are unrecognisable.
No patches have been applied to MCSUB.EXE !.

I'll file attach you MCSUB over here ... come grab it. That makes no sence, as I've patched these on 2 different computers. This is the only one I had to UNP.exe the file before I patched it. It's in email, come grab it.

Thanks! I'll hop on over and d/l it. I've had a few other games that wouldn't patch giving me the same message. Usally 99% will patch, but every so often I get one that won't.
