Metro Last Light Complete Edition is currently free on Steam until the 25th of this month.

I got a solid 11 hours out of this game, but a couple hours were probably 'wasted' by me exploring absolutely every nook & cranny like I do in every game..

I do really enjoy single player FPS games.. currently working on Wolfenstein: The New Order which came out in 2014 but still looks great IMO.

Anyone have recommendations for some more FPS games?

I've come back to Halo through its Anniversary release with all versions (1,2,3,ODST,4 and I think 5 is also in the pack). This should give me years of fun.

I liked Wolfenstein obviously. Never played Metro though. Perhaps I'll stash if on my account if it's free.. why not.

All these games consume a lot of time for unskilled casual gamer like me, so I find joy playing boomer shooters these days or coming back to old doom-likes.

... Xerox Alto was the thing. Anything after we use is just a mere copy.

i'll have to check those out. i didn't realize Halo was available on PC even back then.. i think at the time i was obsessed with Morrowind and wouldn't have wanted to play it anyways.. the whole lot of them is only $40.. hmmmmm

yeah, i really enjoyed playing Duke Nukem 3D recently.. nowadays you can get
it going with high resolution and all the 'modern' controls pre-configured.. i should look into if the original wolf3d has an open source version like that.. that game is a bit wonky to play nowadays
