Hello! This is probably the first topic I start on this network!

So, I'm playing lots at a game called "Stardew Valley", which is a game like "Harvest Moon" however it can also combine elements of other open-world games (even if this isn't properly an open-world game).

Anyone ever played or heard about it?

I have heard of it and it looks beautiful. I don't have Steam on my
Linux box, but games like this tempt me to set it up. In the meanwhile,
when i am in the mood for it, i'll fire up some version of Harvest Moon
in an emulator. A friend is a huge fan of Rimworld and gets a kick out
    of the Ideology expansion.

I have seen it played. A friend of mine used to run a streaming channel at Twitch and Stardew Valley was one of the games he played.

I prefer my games with more conflict and with more specific goals.

I bought the PC edition, but never had a chance to play it yet.

It's on a short list of Games I Can't Touch Anymore after getting sucked in a few times over the years.
My wife and I mostly used Stardew to hang out when we were long distance during the pandemic.

If you want to go down the rabbithole, there are dozens of great mods (and graphical updates) for it, many of
    them really useful QoL stuff.

That's interesting to hear, since I actually never went with the mods, as I'm still trying to complete the original version!

Tell me some useful mods for this game, thank you!

Off the top of my head, there's:

-Automate - Useful when you've beaten the game (or just get tired of the grind), and want to
automate the boring stuff. Allows for auto-collecting/processing/filling your production
machines, which makes a huge difference in the mid-game

-Starblue Valley - "Useful" if you want a less yellow/more SNES feel to the game.
This one might actually be broken since I last played in 2019

-Loved Labels - Tells you if an animal has been pet/loved that day. Small but nice

-NPC Locations - Marks the NPC's location on the map. More of a preference, but hunting them down
    eventually stops being fun

And there's a bunch of icon packs and whatnot, too. I'll ahve to check my old game for a better list

Thank you for starting with these suggestions, these look like all useful to make some of my jobs aid, such as pet animals and the NPC locator!
