    I am running my Mystic BBS on a Windows 10 machine on a local machine. I would like to
    purchase and install an SSL certificate. Can anyone give me a step by step on how to do
    it? I checked the Mystic wiki and couldn't find any results.

    I know I have to open the port to allow incoming access. Do I have to edit the 'Configure
    Servers' area to allow the connection there as well?

    I haven't yet purchased the certificate. I assume I also have to create an email account for
    admin@mystic-hobbies.com as well?

    For the actual generation of a (free) cert from Lets Encrypt, ZeroSSL, etc, I've used Certify The Web (cerifytheweb.com), which is a windows app tht will do all the leg work for you.

    Easier to do a DNS based auth as it is handled with a recond on the zone.

    All that said, does mystic support SSL with its built in web server? The current config shows a port for SSL, so 443 would logically go there. The next thing would be "where" should the certs be stored.

    ... There is an exception to every rule, except this one.

    Why not using something like Ngnix. Then you don't need to rely on Mystic to do SSL for web.

    Because he is running on Windows. TBH, I've not setup any reverse proxying under windows using nginx (only done it under linux - which works great).

    i am also looking into it at the moment as fare as i have found out the cert is put into the data/ssl.cert pkcs#15 file because cryptlib is working with that package format.
    i also want to change the cert in this file but hav not found an easy way t change it.
