Last Chance for Spring Galaxies (evening)
With the moon out of the evening sky, this week is your last good window to explore spring galaxies. The Coma Cluster contains approximately 1,000 galaxies, ten of which are observable in 8' or larger aperture telescopes. The cluster is centered a few degrees east of the naked-eye star Beta Comae Berenices. Most of the cluster's galaxies are of the elliptical class. The brightest members include NGC 4889, 4874, and 4921. This region of sky is
also ideal for imaging.
