First test launch looks to be 8am EST on 17 April. I'm looking forward
to it.

I must admit I do enjoy watching his rockets blow up LOL I love those shockwaves hit the cameras ;)
think the chances are rather high it will go bang at some stage, but hopefully not too early in the 2.5 hours of the test.
Well just think the earlier it goes bang the quicker you get to bed ;)
It looks like my late night is getting later, I thought it was a midnight
I'm hoping it does not go bang too quick :)

Well that was disappointing :(
I got to bed around 1.30am my local time, today at work is a struggle.
When I was 18 I could dance the night away at a nightclub in town until
we got kicked out at 5am. A few hours sleep and I was ready for lunch...
Now I stay up till 11ish and i'm a complete wreck for the rest of the
next day :(
Yep same here... I've some zz now so am feeling better... looks like next attempt will be around 1am-2am on Friday morning my time

I didn't stay up to see it but I hear it went off with a bang! ;)

Just read an article that says the rocket went boom on account that it started to tumble.

probably didn't help.

From the video and reports I've seen they had some engines decide to not work. The thing left a big whole in the launchpad, and concreate was seen flying around... Bet some of that went up into the rocket making a few dints into the plumbing.

I think the launchpad (stage 0 as the call it) is going to be a bigger issue than the rockets, the damage the test launch inflicted shows
there's some real work to be done and issues addressed before the next
one flies.
I read they have a couple of options.
1. Flame trench.
2. More water to supress things.
They have nothing much of either at this stage.

Want a job as a Concrete fixer?! The video you linked to in your last message show's just how big that hole was... $-(
Thet are going to have to look at a diffent way to fix that hole making device! #-;

I agree, it's a mess and I'd be suprised if it's seen to be a quick fix.
I think they had some metal plates they planned to install below the
launch mount but had ran out of time. Flame diversion will be key to getting this sorted.
They should have got that done. It might have saved the launch pad from
so much damage... But when you look at it, they didn't expect it to even get off the pad, so it was a huge win but at the same time a fail.

I think they always hoped it would fly and the vibe I picked up was to clear the tower vs going boom would be seen as a win. But how long until the boom was the variable at play.
I didn't expect the flight to run 90 mins but I was surprised stage 2 separation didn't occur.
It was a 'test' flight, so anythhing past the tower is a win. At least there was no expensive cargo onboard!

Do you watch the YouTube channel WAI? He's quite good at covering
Starship stuff... I also watch Everyday Astronaut too.
There is a issue with my youtube account/subscriptions in that I'm not getting notifications for new content, so I'm having to rememeber to go there at least once a week... Then the issue of getting lost in all the content comes up.... #-/

I think when you sub to a channel there seems to be a number of options
as to how many alerts and how often you want to get them... at least I think that's the case?
When I login I can see what channel's I'm subscribed to that have new content. The subscribed bell is on for them all with the "all" option.
Unless I'm not thinking right, shouldn't I also receive a email when the channel has new content?

I've never received an email for any subscribed channel with new
content.

I'm honestly not sure.. I can't say I've seen email alerts but then
again I may not be checking the email I had set up with my YouTube
account.

It's not a silly idea but nope, looks like the app will notify you but that's about it.
