So... After five episodes, I have to say...this show is starting to lose
me.I understand that the TV adaptation needs to change from the book, but
at this point, they seem to just be changing things for the sake of changing things, and it's starting to get a little annoying.

I haven't read the book, but I'm keen to know what's been changed.

    To which Commodore Clifford replies...

I haven't seen that one yet... (and probably won't) but as a generic observation, that's usually where a show looses me too.

You chose to base something off a book for a reason. Changing it just to
say you changed it? Why not just come up with your own original story.
Those who are watching it because of the book will just be upset and
those who aren't familiar with the book won't care either way.

I haven't read the book, but I'm keen to know what's been changed.

There is no 'Judicial' in the books. There's IT. I have a guess as to why
I think they may have introduced Judicial, but I can't really talk about
    it without spoilers.

Juliette spent *very* little time as Sheriff, and her time there was not the makings of a police procedural, which is what they appear to be doing. There were no 'relics' in the book, because the founders of the silo were *way* to careful to let that happen. There was another means in which infomation about the past was conveyed in the books, which was much more interesting.

There are a lot of little things that just seem strange changes to
make...the whole conversation about stars (not knowing what the lights in the sky were, the prohibition on magnification (though that seems like an interesting idea, when you find out what's really going on, it seems like a rule that would cause more trouble than its worth in the grand scheme of things.)

Part of what bothers me is that the book moves *fast*. Juliette should be in
a completely different situation five episodes in.
